Ranch, Field and Game Fences

Ranch, Field & Game Fencing Gallery

Wood fences are classic, highly scenic choices for marking tracts of land.  While wire fencing is the usual choice for very large ranches or preserves, wood is a great choice for sizable yards as well as smaller “hobby” farms.  Here are some options you may want to consider for your own property.

  • Traditional post-and-rail or split-rail fences offer many advantages.  When properly built, they’re strong enough to contain larger animals like cattle. Most people prefer the look of post-and-rail fences over that of wire.  Post-and-rail fences allow sunlight and views, while still serving the traditional roles of marking property borders and defining areas for landscape design.
  • Field wire is a common choice for large properties. The wire can be combined with different post options to create a number of different looks.  We can also do game fencing.
  • Wooden privacy fencing is more material-intensive than post-and-rail, but also affords higher degrees of containment.  This fact makes it the best option for those with dogs or other pets that would not be contained by more open designs.  Privacy wood fences also block unsightly views and provide greater degrees of security than post-and-rail layouts.  For areas where these factors are a priority, privacy fencing may be the best choice.
